LOCATION

NORTHERN REGION – OR TAMBO PLANT

QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
  • A tertiary qualification in Production Management / Construction Management or Civil Engineering an advantage

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum three years’ experience in production / manufacturing management, or construction management

SKILLS

Applicants must have the following:

  • Sound verbal, written and telephonic communication skills in English
  • Sound computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and CE)
  • Energetic and flexible disposition, the ability to manage staff at all levels, as well as a high level of integrity
  • Sound organizational ability and deadline orientated
  • Ability and willingness to work irregular and extended hours
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Industrial Relations

Applicants must have a valid SA Driver’s License & may be required to work extended /irregular hours

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS

The incumbent will be required to perform various tasks inherent to the position such as:

  • Conducting monthly stock-take of all raw materials and reporting on variances
  • Ensuring effective utilization of personnel, development of personnel through internal training and identifying additional training needs
  • Ensuring that all employees conform to safety and environmental rules and regulations
  • Ensuring that delivered raw materials conform to quality and quantity specifications laid down by the company
  • Ensuring that all batched products conform to technical specifications
  • Ensuring that disciplinary and grievance procedures are followed
  • Ensuring that suppliers meet necessary order requirements
  • Ensuring that Sub-Contractors or own drivers meet the necessary delivery requirements, including liaison with customers, appearance and upholding of company image
  • Compiling yearly budget and controlling it monthly and reporting on variances
  • Ensuring sound relationships between customers and the company
  • Ensuring a sound knowledge of new developments and future planning in his/her area of responsibility
  • Ensuring that company assets are being maintained in accordance with a planned maintenance schedule and that maintenance is carried out timeously, in conjunction with the Maintenance Department
  • Checking all customer sites prior to delivery to ensure safe and efficient access for trucks
  • Checking all sites with pumping requirements to ensure planning is done correctly and liaising with the Pump Division
  • Employment of production staff in conjunction with Operations Manager and Human Resources Department
