Process Controller

LOCATION

QUALIFICATION

• Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
• A qualification in construction, civil engineering or concrete technology is an advantage

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum two years production / manufacturing / operations experience
• Experience in a construction, civil or concrete-related industry an advantage

SKILLS

• Sound verbal, written and telephonic communication skills in English.
• Sound computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CE)
• Precise and accurate nature, as well as attention to detail
• Deadline orientated.
• Energetic and flexible disposition and the ability to liaise with staff at all levels, as well as customers.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to work irregular and extended hours.

OTHER

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS

• Batching concrete loads accurately, in line with recipes provided on the system.
• Recording of all water batched into each load of concrete, including water added at check point and on site.
• Reporting “out of tolerance batches” to the Plant Manager or Technical Department
• Printing delivery notes and ensuring that Drivers have relevant copies for each load of concrete dispatched.
• Effective communication with Concrete Mixer Drivers and other plant staff
• Ensuring that daily orders are downloaded to the plant.
• Ensuring that stock take is done daily.
• Receiving raw materials and ensuring that the quality and quantity is correct.
• Ensuring that overnight cement deliveries are planned for and recorded.
• Maintaining a diary recording the following: current weather conditions, discussions with customers, quality problems etc.
• Ensuring that the general plant area is maintained and in a clean condition.
• Ensuring that scale checks are done monthly.
• Ensuring that moisture checks are done after every 75m3 of concrete batched, or three times daily, or if there is a noticeable change in the water demand in concrete mixes being batched.
